Platform Optimization for Maximum Compatibility
Your song sounds perfect in the studio, but feels flat on Spotify or causes distortions on vinyl? Technical final approval is the last and most critical link in the production chain. We ensure that your artistic vision is reproduced consistently and powerfully on every end device—from smartphones to high-end sound systems.
Modern music distribution is complex. Every streaming platform utilizes its own normalization algorithms that automatically adjust the level of your track. If the integrated loudness (LUFS) is not precisely aligned with these standards, you risk your track sounding too quiet or having its dynamics damaged by the platform's internal limiters. Professional optimization prevents these technical artifacts and ensures your music competes on equal footing with major label releases.
Beyond the digital realm, preparing for physical media such as vinyl introduces specific technical requirements. Here, the focus shifts from mere loudness to phase alignment in the low-end and the avoidance of overly steep transients that could cause the needle to skip. We analyze your signal using high-precision monitoring in our 28 m² control room to guarantee a flawless translation from digital file to physical groove.
The Platform Optimization Process in Four Steps
Technical Analysis
We examine your final master for peak values, integrated LUFS, and spectral balance to identify potential conflicts with target distribution platforms.
Level Adjustment & True Peak
Loudness is precisely calibrated for Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal, maintaining sufficient True-Peak headroom to eliminate inter-sample peaks.
Medium-Specific Shaping
For vinyl versions, we optimize the low-end phase and smooth out critical frequency peaks to stabilize mechanical playback.
Final Rendering & QA
Export of optimized files in the required formats, followed by a final quality check across various reference monitoring systems.
Who is this service for?
This service is designed for independent artists, producers, and small labels who already possess a finished master but are uncertain if it meets the technical specifications of digital distributors. It is particularly vital for musicians releasing their work across multiple media simultaneously (e.g., Digital and Vinyl), as a "one-size-fits-all" approach often leads to audible quality loss on specific platforms.
For beatmakers and home-studio producers, this step is essential because acoustic environments in private rooms can be misleading. We provide the objective, technical verification necessary to meet professional standards in the competitive landscape of streaming charts.
How the collaboration works
Once you book the service, you send us your master track via a secure transfer service. We analyze the material and compare it against the current guidelines of major streaming providers. Should we find that the master has fundamental flaws that make simple optimization impossible, we will contact you before proceeding with the work.
The actual processing takes place in our studio in Linz. We use a combination of precise measurement tools and our full-range monitoring to ensure that the optimization is not just mathematically correct, but sonically convincing. All communication is handled transparently via email or telephone.
What to prepare for optimization
To achieve a high-quality result, we require the following documents and files from you:
- The final master in WAV format (minimum 24 Bit, 44.1 kHz).
- Information regarding target platforms (e.g., streaming only or additional Vinyl/CD).
- Reference tracks that exhibit a similar loudness characteristic to your target sound, if available.
- Clear specifications from your pressing plant if vinyl production is planned.
Please ensure that the file does not have an additional limiter effect on the export bus that pushes the signal hard against 0 dBFS, as this severely limits the headroom available for optimization.
The Result: What you receive
Upon completion of the optimization, we provide a package containing technically validated files. This includes:
- An optimized master track as a WAV (24 Bit) for digital distribution.
- A specific version for vinyl pressing (if booked), optimized for mechanical needle playback.
- A detailed technical report stating the integrated loudness (LUFS) and the True Peak.
- Brief instructions on the correct assignment of files within your distributor's portal.
- The certainty that your track will not be unfavorably altered by automatic platform algorithms.
Timeline and Delivery
The average delivery time for platform optimization is 5 workdays. In exceptional cases, this period may vary depending on the complexity of the requirements (e.g., multiple formats). If you are planning an urgent release, we offer a rush fee, which adds 30% to the standard price and significantly shortens the processing time.
What is NOT included in optimization
It is important to understand that platform optimization is not a creative mastering process. The following services are not part of this package:
- Creative EQing or compression intended to improve the sonic quality of the mix.
- New splicing, editing, or arrangement of the track.
- The actual distribution or uploading of tracks to distributor portals.
- The creation of instrumental or TV mixes from a stereo master.
If you feel that your track is not yet sonically mature, we recommend our Stereo Mastering service before proceeding with platform optimization.
Pricing and VAT
We charge for our services transparently per package. Prices include the statutory Austrian Value Added Tax (VAT) of 20%. For business customers (B2B), VAT will be shown on the invoice and can be reclaimed according to national tax laws. Billing occurs upon completion of the work, with a 50% deposit required for new clients.

Further Information
To dive deeper into the subject of digital loudness, we recommend our technical guide Streaming Loudness Explained. There, we explain in detail how Spotify and Apple Music algorithms work and why correct preparation makes the difference between a professional and an amateur release.

Frequently Asked Questions about Optimization
Why isn't a normal master sufficient for all platforms?
Every platform has different target values. While Spotify uses a specific LUFS normalization, vinyl pressing plants handle the bass region and peak values entirely differently. A master that is perfect for streaming can cause audible distortions on vinyl.
What happens if my track has already been mastered too loud?
If the signal is already hard-limited, we can adjust the loudness, but the lost dynamics cannot be restored. In such cases, we will advise you on whether a complete re-mastering would be more effective.
How many revisions are included in the price?
In accordance with our standard business rules, up to 3 rounds of revisions are included, provided they relate to the technical specifications of the target platform.
Can you also create the metadata for the distributor?
No, we deliver the technically optimized audio files and the corresponding measurement data. The entry of metadata into the distributor portals is the responsibility of the client.
